At Cornerstone Dental with Dr. Clark, the technology we use helps us provide patients with dental care including dental lasers, digital x-rays and intraoral scanners.
Technologies at Our Dental Clinic
We use technology to help plan effective treatments and make your dental appointments run more smoothly. We can display digital x-rays and scans on monitors in our treatment rooms, and can show you any issues in your mouth and describe your treatment plan.
At Cornerstone Dental with Dr. Clark, we're on a mission to provide patients with efficient dental care, and help them become fully informed about their oral health. Dental technology helps us do that.
STA Wand
We understand that anxiety about dental needles and freezing is common. At Cornerstone Dental with Dr. Clark, we offer the STA Wand (Single Tooth Anesthesia) System to help patients with this fear. With STA, we are able to use computer-controlled freezing for local anesthesia. Benefits of the Wand include reduced pain and a more isolated numbness in the area of treatment.
X-Rays
At Cornerstone Dental with Dr. Clark, we use X-Rays to help identify potential issues by creating detailed representations of your mouth and teeth.
- Digital X-Rays
Digital x-rays use digital sensors to replace traditional photographic x-ray film. They create extremely detailed computer images of the teeth and gums, as well as other oral conditions and structures, enabling your dentist to examine parts of the mouth that are not visible to the naked eye.
- Panoramic X-Rays
Using panoramic x-rays, your dentist can create a single flat image of your entire mouth. This image is a flat representation of the teeth, upper and lower jaws, temporomandibular joints (TMJ), and the nasal and sinus structures. Panoramic x-rays are often used to help plan treatments for implants, braces, extractions and dentures.
Digital Scanners
At Cornerstone Dental with Dr. Clark, we use X-Rays to help identify potential issues by creating detailed representations of your mouth and teeth.
- Intraoral Scanner
Intraoral scanners are able to create digital dental impressions. Our dentists use an optical scanning wand to produce a digital image of your mouth and teeth within minutes. This device allows us to obtain highly accurate data to create digital replicas of the hard and soft tissues of your mouth.
- Cone Beam Cat Scan
Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT), a special type of x-ray machine, creates 3D images of the soft tissues, dental structures, bones, and nerve paths in the craniofacial region. Within a single scan, CBCT obtains images that allow for more precise treatment planning.
Soft Tissue Dental Lasers
Dental lasers use precisely focused light beams in a range of soft tissue procedures, typically for repair and healing purposes. Lasers help our dentists with procedures such as crown lengthening, periodontal disease treatment, or gum reshaping while minimizing pain, and helps reduce the need for medical interventions.
CEREC Primescan
CEREC® (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics) Primescan is a dental technology system that creates dental restorations (such as ceramic crowns, inlays and onlays) in a single visit. With CEREC, you won't need impressions or temporaries placed, your tooth-coloured restoration will be ready the same day.
