At Cornerstone Dental with Dr. Clark in Vernon, our dentists may recommend porcelain veneers as a treatment option to help correct discoloured, chipped, misaligned or gapped teeth.
What is a Dental Veneer?
Veneers are razor-thin pieces of tooth-shaped, durable porcelain. They are custom-made to match the colour and shape of your teeth by a dental laboratory.
At Cornerstone Dental with Dr. Clark, our dentists can create a more uniform smile for our patients using veneers. The restoration is bonded to the front of your natural tooth to help improve your smile's shape, symmetry or colour.
How Veneers Work
An impression of your teeth will be taken, then used to create your custom veneers.
Once your veneers have been created, they will then be bonded to the fronts of your natural teeth using cement resin. This process typically takes at least two visits to our dental office.
Made from an extremely thin piece of porcelain, custom-shaped veneers match your natural tooth colour. The porcelain is stain-resistant and imitates the natural translucency of tooth enamel.
Benefits of Veneers
Are you looking to improve the evenness of your whole smile, or the shape of individual teeth?
Dental veneers may be ideal for you.
Veneers can help the appearance of crooked, discoloured or worn teeth and help protect the surface of your teeth from further damage. They could also provide a way to address size and spacing issues. If cared for properly, dental veneers could last many years.
